Black Magic in detail.
BLACK MAGIC A BIT MORE INDEPTH.
Black Magic was created around the 4th of July in 2016. Around this time there was some real hype behind the work. I talked about the work just recently not along ago from this time period. (link) You can read it in the prior provided link. This post will feature and talk about the method used to create the work and the process behind the end result to be featured in this post or the next. I am to say that I am not going to continue to post anything to Tapas; its worth nothing but chortles and laughs how little views you even get there that its not worth it. And yea, even my protective spamware/firewall program thinks that site is spam or malicious and a danger to my computer. The site is a danger to have any prestige as an artist these days whilst everyone drawing boys bonking boys is a genius and pronouns, the marvelous pronouns are what defines the stories whether than actual good content.
I do say that I was with Tapas since fall 2014 when it was Tapastic and not well known and could very well be considered a "veteran user" and a supporter of it up to a time period where they only favored BL artists-let's just say that I have not be treated that well by Tapas. Truly enough; never get enough views and just like the art or some manga that is found in the back alleys where the main attractions are just political correct numb things, bl and gl works or some works by some South Koreans that have more prestige than others on the site. I would say Tapas did not always be a Tapas. It was at one point at a time more fixated in a more fair model and that is when it was called Tapastic. Their name change came in 2018 and really just kept out pushing to prominence and advertising great these artists and their works of such sheer popularity. The political correctness, the bl, gl, and being South Korean alone will get you far but being whatever I may be does not even if I am a long user of their site before many even knew about it or before it was registered as a competitor to line webtoons. In many ways Tapas, will not be able to produce its own anime and such and good luck with that because you probably will also be a DC comics to a Marvel. Rather won't have the competitive edge or partners to have a competitive edge and guess what? Your brand pretty much deserves this as you regulate some art styles and creators as secondary and those to be in the back alleys of your system. Let's just say that I posted Black Magic (summer 2016) on Tapastic-the version of a site when it was more equal and gave more opportunities for people's works to be registered and viewed and did relish their content and efforts to a lesser style. There is to be said that I won't be posting the work on Tapas, this time.
The work of Black Magic in this summer 2016 utilized again the four square method as I used that format for its first draft in fall 2014. Ultimately tried to make the style of four square into another method and outcome. The four squared method essentially produces a small type summary comic in 1/4 of a page and it has three strips/rectangles representing elements of the stories. I was trying to size the result up to one page but really-I actually would need more than just one page. I would need three pages to represent each denoted point and more paper to fill in between those points. I only understand that recently after trying for years to expand the form. The whole expansion effort did not work out so well but essentially the drafts in fall 2014 would inspired the Black Magic work in summer 2016. Ultimately I would draw a cover image for the works and then there would be three different horizontal strips and it would be done as in a vertical comic format. The format that is popular in South Korea and one I had spent doing in the summer prior with Shark on Campus.
I drew essentially one strip for 30 serials on paper and then traced it onto the computer. Likely one of the last times I would even trace anything. Next; I basically filled in two more strips creating each comic that was later posted on Tapas. Surely it was popular but I was heavily dissatisfied with the work. I was trying my best and just could not get it to work; the conversion between two methods. In all hindsight I had too much on my mind. Would I be able to complete my objectives for the summer? Would I win the competition? Would I get out of this void of loneliness I was in? These things were in my mind but I just had to calm down and say " I could try again" and that is essentially what I did.
The next post will have the comics from this time period as I am done with "Tapas". However I will only keep it posted until one day after the initial post and then it can be only accessed on patreon.
Edit: It is a nightmare to add all the comics to Blogger as Blogger lacks the ability to give you the user the order in which you want to place images in especially a whole large group which is why many of the times I used external 3rd party partners that had the ability.
